Hartman Park covers 11 acres, and is Beech Grove's smallest park! Hartman Park features include five baseball diamonds, a restroom building and concessions area, all of which are used for summer baseball sponsored by Beech Grove Little League.
Hartman Park is named for Fr. Robert Hartman, who served as Holy Name's pastor from 1951 to 1977. Fr. Hartman was instrumental in deeding this property to the City of Beech Grove, specifically for use as the home of Beech Grove Little League Baseball.
The City of Beech Grove allows Beech Grove Little League exclusive use of Hartman Park during baseball season. We ask that everyone respects Hartman Park as city property and follows park rules so that we may continue to play here.
1. Smoking, vaping and use of alcohol is strictly prohibited on the property *This does include the parking lot*
2. Pets are not permitted on the property, except for certified service animals.
3. No bicycles, mopeds, scooters, hoverboards, or motorcycles in the playing or viewing area.
4. Vehicles should not be parked on the perimeter of the main parking lot. In the event they are needed, it is imperative that emergency vehicles are able to get through to the ball diamonds or concession stand. Vehicles blocking the emergency lane may be towed at the owner's expense.
5. Vehicles should not be parked in the grass. Vehicles parked in the grass may be towed at the owner's expense. The only exception is the overflow lot on the north side of the main lot. If parking in the overflow lot, please use common sense and park reasonably close to the car next to you and leave the perimeter open for traffic flow in and out of the lot. *DO NOT block the private driveway that runs between the main lot and overflow lot
***If the main lot and overflow lot are full, you can park at South Grove Intermediate School, which is a short walk across the street from Hartman Park.
6. Help us keep the park beautiful by throwing your trash in the cans placed around the park. DO NOT put trash in the dumpster by the Minors field - this is for recycling only.
7. Remember - This is youth baseball, and as such, we expect to have a family friendly environment. Please be mindful of your language and your actions when you are in the park. Set a positive example for our children!
Hartman Park has 24 hour monitoring. If you see something concerning, please inform a board member as soon as possible so it can be addressed quickly. You can also report concerns to the Beech Grove Parks Department.
